Garlic Chive Seeds For Growing Herbs

Garlic chive seeds can take between 60-90 days to reach full maturity and you can expect this perennial to grow up to 50cm tall. Garlic chives grow in clumps which very slowly begin to spread. It produces long broad leaves with white flowers which are shaped like stars. It’s a culinary herb with a garlic flavour, that can be used in a wide range of dishes. You can use garlic chives in a similar way to regular chives, such as sprinkling them on soup or adding them to butter. You could also treat it as a vegetable and stuff them into dumplings or add them to stir-fries.

As the name suggests, the leaves of garlic chives have a mild flavour, somewhere between garlic and regular chives. They can be eaten either cooked or raw and are sometimes referred to as Chinese chives. These seeds can be sown directly into finishing position and can be planted in containers if preferred.
