Complete Seed Recall Advisory – Updated 4th March 2026
Last updated: 4th March 2026
Advisory – Complete Seed Recall
Why this advisory has been issued
Due to ongoing regulatory uncertainty and lack of guidance from the authorities, all seed varieties supplied by Australian Wheatgrass, regardless of purchase date, are being recalled.
Laboratory testing has been conducted on 38 varieties. Twenty-five returned no detectable pesticide residues, but composite sampling protocols were not followed, and as a result, the safety of all seeds cannot be guaranteed.
To act responsibly and in line with a precautionary approach, trading of all seeds has been suspended indefinitely until regulatory guidance is provided by the NSW Food Authority (DPIRD) and Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ).
